Winter Conference Seminar Lineup

Winter Conference Seminar Lineup

We are excited to announce our amazing lineup of seminar topics and speakers for this year’s Winter Conference! Take a look at our schedule below and read on for a short description of each seminar.

ROMANCING BIBLICALLY
Speaker: Eric Noh

How do I know if he or she is “the one”? What are some major deal breakers when it comes to dating? What does a healthy dating life look like within a campus ministry or church? Is my dating relationship God-honoring? This seminar will answer these questions and more as we explore biblical dating in today’s culture.

SLAVES TO SMARTPHONES
Speaker: Randy Cho

Everyone is glued to their phones. We’re never fully offline and we’re perpetually connected to each other. The smartphone is rapidly changing how we live and interact with one another, but is this for better or for worse? This seminar will explore the dangerous effects our smartphones have on us, and what we can do to be wiser and healthier stewards of technology.

WOMEN FINDING WORTH IN JESUS
Speaker: Jessica Kim

The way the world defines women is very different from the way the Bible defines them. Rather than letting society define our self-worth as women, how can we look to the gospel to discover our value? This women-only seminar will discuss how a deep understanding of who we are in Christ gives us worth and value.

THE JOY OF SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINES
Speaker: Michael Lee

In today’s fast-paced culture, practicing spiritual disciplines can be a struggle. Things like praying or reading the Bible don’t sound very exciting to most people. But what if they are the key to fully enjoying Jesus? This seminar will discuss what spiritual disciplines are, how to practice them, and why they are crucial for joy in the Christian life.

BIBLICAL MANHOOD
Speakers: Sam Bay & Eugene Park

Being a Christian is hard enough, but being a Christian man raises even more questions. What does it look like to be faithful as men in college? This men-only seminar will be a Q&A panel that discusses and clarifies major questions regarding biblical manhood.

CAN YOU BE GAY AND CHRISTIAN?
Speaker: Thomas Hwang

While the church has historically spoken against same-sex relationships, there are a growing number of Christians today who affirm that you can be both gay and Christian. How should we respond to this? Can we find compatibility between homosexuality and Christianity? Join us as we discuss this controversial but important topic.

THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD
Speaker: Shalom Bay

It’s no secret that life can be messy and murky. We desire clarity and often wonder how we can walk by faith in this faithless world. This will be a testimonial seminar of the speaker’s personal journey and struggle through her postgrad years and how God guided her to the mission field of Japan. It will include biblical nuggets of wisdom that will act as guideposts for your own journey.

THE TWO SIDES OF PARTYING
Speaker: Isaiah Cho

Partying is everywhere in college, whether it’s drinking, smoking, drugs, or unhealthy relationships. Christians have a hard time navigating this, especially because there are two different perspectives to consider: people who party and people who don’t. This seminar will address many of the unanswered questions about partying, to help both sides have a gospel-centered understanding of each other rather than the typical judgmental misunderstanding.

ON ANGER…
Speaker: Kay Lim

An unhealthy theology and understanding of anger inevitably leads to an unhealthy expression and receiving of anger. When is anger righteous and when is it sinful? How do we best understand our own anger and re-orient ourselves to glorify our God of perfect anger through it? This seminar will answer these questions and help give wisdom on the matter.

MINISTRY IN THE WORKPLACE
Speaker: Harry Lee

Life after college can be challenging for Christians. Especially if you were involved in a campus ministry, much of the excitement is gone when you enter the workplace. Ministry seems separate from work, and we struggle to understand how the two can coexist. Do we need to be pastors, missionaries, or church leaders to do ministry? Or is there a way for us to do ministry in the workplace? Join us as we discuss this common struggle.

STUDYING FOR THE GLORY OF GOD
Speaker: Andrew Kim

Many of us say we study “for the glory of God” but what does that actually mean? As students whose primary focus is school, it’s important to understand how to properly honor and glorify God in our current context. This seminar will explore key truths to help collegians navigate this often misunderstood matter.

Please pray for our seminar speakers as they prepare for Winter Conference!
